About

Evolutionary History is new branch of social and cultural history, which aims at a better understanding of the influence of evolutionary shaped features of the human body and mind on the social and cultural history of humans. Although rooted in and strongly influenced by Darwinian History, Dual Inheritance Theory and Deep History, it is different from these approaches in putting more emphasis on and acknowledging the cultural layer between historical human behavior and evolutionary shaped adaptations. It is not about measuring fitness of (cultural) traits, but rather about understanding the influence of adaptations as limiting and stimulating factors of cultural, social and historical development. For more information about this approach see the selected publications.
